As the Director of Boarding, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to the International School Aamby web pages. Deciding to send your child to boarding school is a big decision in the lives of all concerned; for the child who leaves home for the first time and you as parents, who put your trust in the hands of others, at an important time in your child’s development.
At International School Aamby we provide a truly 21st century boarding experience. Our brand new boarding houses offer a blend of modern facilities with all the practical necessities of a first class boarding environment. Student rooms, with en-suite bathrooms throughout, provide shared accommodation amongst our younger students and greater levels of privacy as students move up the school. Our common rooms and meeting areas, with Wi-Fi, desktops, soft furnishings, indoor games and entertainment offer superb places to relax and unwind, as well as areas to study and learn.
Weekends at International School Aamby provide a wonderful opportunity for students to explore there own interests and take full advantage of the superb facilities on offer in Aamby Valley City. A full and varied weekend programme is offered Activities range from watersports to trekking, camps and excursions, sporting academies in golf and cricket, equestrian activities, table tennis, snooker, volleyball, squash, yoga, personal fitness and adventure sports. For those who require time to recuperate and prepare for the week ahead, the weekends also provide an opportunity for independent study, rest and companionship.
At International School Aamby we pride ourselves on the level of expert care and guidance that we provide for all individuals at the school. The Housemasters, Residential Tutors and Matrons, that work in all our Boarding Houses, form a team of staff who ensure that the day to day requirements of your child are looked after. We hope that the boarding house provides your child with a sense of ‘home away from home’, an environment in which they feel safe and supported, but with enough space to develop a growing sense of autonomy and individual responsibility. Above all, a boarding house is a place where one learns to live alongside others, some who will be different in many ways and others who will become life long friends. Boarders quickly learn the meaning of patience and empathy, as well as an appreciation of the individual qualities of their peers. Above all, they develop an understanding of the importance of laughter and friendship in a positive, creative community, such is the ISA boarding experience. I wish you all a very warm welcome indeed.
