Jason Kirwin

Jason Kirwin joins ISA as Principal for the 2011/12 academic year. He is looking forward to joining the ISA and Aamby Valley City community.

Jason's specific area of academic interest is school improvement framed within the broader field of educational management. Jason has completed degrees through four Australian civilian universities and has worked in the UAE, Qatar, UK and Australia.

In the classroom, Jason taught within the areas of mathematics, physics and chemistry. During his career, he has held numerous positions including CIE Examinations Officer, IBDP Coordinator as well as Assistant Head and Head of Secondary Schools. His management experience includes senior and executive leadership positions in three Preschool to Year 13 IB authorized schools. Most recently he was leading a group of international schools with a student body of over 3500 children.

Jason holds full teacher registration with the Queensland (Australia) Board of Teacher Registration. In his earlier years he briefly attended the Royal Military College of Australia before graduating from the Royal Australian Naval College with a Commission in the Royal Australian Navy, where he still holds the rank of Lieutenant. Prior to leaving Australia, Jason was a Member and Chartered Chemist of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute {MRACI, CChem}, Member and Accredited Professional of the Australian Institute of Training and Development {MAITD, AP} and Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resource Institute {CMAHRI}. Jason calls Queensland, Australia, home.

Jason has served as the President and the Secretary of the Middle East International Baccalaureate Association (MEIBA) of schools.
