DEVELOPMENT OF THE WHOLE PERSON
Our boarding programme offers outstanding academic, personal, social, sporting and recreational opportunities. Boarders grow in self-esteem and confidence as they learn to take on challenging tasks within a caring and dynamic community. Students enroll as either full-time boarders or as weekly boarders who return home on Saturday at 12.30 p.m. and rejoin their boarding house on Sunday evenings. All our staff is committed and involved in the life of the boarding community, offering focused study assistance, pastoral support and encouragement.

RESIDENCES
Separate boarding houses for boys and girls have been designed on a home-away-from-home concept and with maximum emphasis placed upon the quality of living and study arrangements. Boarders enjoy well-appointed rooms and suites with excellent furnishings, ventilation and natural lighting. Accommodation is in a modular format enhanced by architecture that captures Aamby Valley’s superb natural landscape. In general, Primary School and Middle School boarders occupy spacious four person rooms that help promote early socialisation and assist with monitoring and supervision. Senior School boarders ultimately enjoy individual suites that correspond with their maturity and intensive academic programme.

Each of the living modules has separate but accessible living quarters for the Housemaster/Mistress and boarding staff. Living modules boast attractive common rooms with a television set, digital projector and screen, as well as desktop computers and Wi-Fi connectivity. Each house has a small kitchen and pantry where boarders can enjoy cold drinks, tea, coffee and cocoa; equipment is available for the preparation of light food, such as toast, grills or sandwiches, during the evenings and at weekends. All measures are taken to maintain a high standard of health and hygiene in our boarding houses.

THE DINING HALL
The latest kitchen design and dining facilities combine to serve the entire school and staff. Our kitchen is strictly separated into vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections, to accommodate different tastes and requirements. State-of-the-art cooking implements and equipment are standard additions, while the cleaning systems are totally mechanized and conform to international health standards.

The Dining Hall is spacious and designed to capture the inspiring view of the Emerald hills. The Dining Hall has radial connections to the academic and residential sections of the campus.

MEALS
Carefully planned and well-balanced meals, complying with the Standard RDA norms, are provided and no compromise, whatsoever, is made on the quality of ingredients used.
A rotational menu offers a superior choice of different regional Indian cuisines in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. There is also provision for Thai and Continental cuisines. Our aim is always to provide wholesome and nutritious meals.

All the members of staff dine with the students, infusing a sense of camaraderie and bonhomie.

Visiting parents are welcome to see the weekly menu which is displayed on the Menu Board in the Dining Hall, or on our secure Web Parent.

THE TOWN PLAZA
The Town Plaza boasts a cinema hall suitable for children’s viewing and a variety of light meal restaurants for weekend enjoyment.

STATIONERY
The school provides a comprehensive stationery service that covers text books and miscellaneous distribution.

MEDICAL & HEALTHCARE
Each boarding house has a medical room and on-call, live-in matron. In addition the school has access to Aamby Valley Hospital that has resident medical officers, trained nurses, isolation ward and intensive care unit. Specialists provide weekly clinics at the hospital and appointments can be made through the house matron. A 24hr ambulance system is available. The hospital is less than five minutes from the school.

Mobile Phones
Students are permitted to bring mobile phones to the school, but their use is managed by the House Master/Mistress. All students must hand their phones into the House Master/Mistress upon arrival at the school. Mobile phones are not permitted during any school activities

The House Master/Mistress will distribute mobile phones to the students twice a week:-

  1. Wednesday 5.30 – 7.00pm
  2. Saturday 6.30 – 8.00pm

In case of an emergency, or should a student need to contact their parents outside of these times, then they may request use of their phone from their House Master/Mistress. Permission will be granted at the House Master/Mistress’ discretion

Laptops
At ISA we recognise that as students move from Standards 3 – 12, the use of Laptop computers becomes a useful, but not essential, component of private study. At ISA students are permitted to use laptops within lessons and also at specific times in the boarding houses.

All students sign the ‘ICT User Agreement’ upon arrival at the school. This specifies that students should use all ICT equipment responsibly.

Prior to arrival at the school, all laptops must be installed with licensed software and anti-virus packages.

In the boarding houses, the use of laptops is restricted to specific study times. All boarding houses are fitted with Wi-Fi internet access. There are specific times when the Wi-Fi network is accessible, appropriate filtering and security is in place across the whole school and use of the internet is closely monitored.
